For every 1,000 people born in the same year, cardiovascular disease would claim 427 lives while all other causes combined would equal 573.  It’s time for consumers to learn how they can lower their risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes through managing their lifestyle.  Registered Dietitian, Barbara Day, M.S., R.D., C.N., has developed a 4-week Heart Smart for Your Heart: Lifestyle Strategies for the Health of Your Heart and Body, Too!

Barbara Day, a Lifestyle Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, publisher of KentuckianaHealthWellness.com, and local radio show host, has designed a 4-week Heart Smart Lifestyle Education Program so you can become more heart smart for your heart by learning lifestyle strategies which will help keep your heart and body healthy.

You will learn about Heart Disease: What the Numbers Mean?  How to Become Nutrition Smart for Your Heart, Advanced Nutrition Strategies: Shopping, Cooking and Eating Out, How to Be Wise & Exercise, Medicines & Supplements & How They Affect Your Nutrition Status and How to Manage Your Stress.

If you are overweight, have high blood cholesterol, high blood triglycerides, high blood sugar, high blood pressure or a combinations of these, this type of comprehensive program   you will learn strategies to help you to lose weight, cut down on your salt to help you lower your blood pressure and how to deal with metabolic syndrome.

This program is taught through a one-on-one program. In most cases, this heart smart comprehensive health education program is reimbursable by your health insurance or you can use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA). However, you will have to file the superbill to your personal health insurance company for reimbursement.

The first session costs $70 which includes a resting metabolic rate test.  Each of the other 3 sessions will cost $50 each session.
